New genus and first record of Hybotinae (Diptera: Empidoidea: Hybotidae) in middle Miocene Dominican amber

A new fossil genus of the family Hybotidae is described, based on male and female specimens. The new genus is monotypic: Syneproctus caridadi gen. et sp. nov.
