Abstract
The mitochondrial inner membrane anion channel (IMAC) carries a wide variety of anions and is postulated to be involved in mitochondrial volume homeostasis in conjunction with the K+/H+ antiporter, thus allowing the respiratory chain proton pumps to drive salt efflux.
