Abstract
This paper investigates the fatigue strength modelling of high-performing welded steel joints. The work considers the strain-based, notch stress, averaged strain energy density approaches, and linear elastic fracture mechanics. A comparison of the methods with experimental data shows that the predictions vary significantly for different modelling assumptions.
