The parasitoid of whiteflies Encarsia formosa has been widely applied to reduce whitefly-mediated damage on vegetables and ornamental plants grown in greenhouses. Although its chemosensory behavior has been described, the mechanism by which E. formosa recognizes chemical volatiles at the molecular level remains unknown.
