Abstract
The Cenozoic India-Asia collision reactivated several ancient thrust belts in the interior of the Asian continent, including the West and East Kunlun ranges in central Tibet, and the Tian Shan and Qilian Shan further north. Both basin sedimentary records and thermochronological data show that the uplift of the South Tian Shan and Qilian Shan at the north occurred earlier than that of the West and East Kunlun ranges at the south.
