Abstract
Senescent cells interact with the surrounding microenvironment achieving diverse functional outcomes. We have recently identified that NOTCH1 can drive ‘lateral induction’ of a unique senescence phenotype in adjacent cells by specifically upregulating the NOTCH ligand JAG1.
