Abstract
It is demonstrated that optical microscopy images of steel materials could be effectively categorized into classes on preset ferrite/pearlite-, ferrite/pearlite/bainite-, and bainite/martensite-type microstructures with image pre-processing and statistical analysis including the machine learning techniques.
