Abstract
Caloric restriction (CR) promotes longevity and exerts anti-aging effects by increasing Sirtuin production and activation. Gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), a gastrointestinal peptide hormone, exerts various effects on pancreatic β-cells and extra-pancreatic tissues.
