Abstract
Background: MYBPC3 encodes cardiac myosin binding protein-C, which regulates sarcomeric stability and contractility. Previous work described a prevalent 25bp deletion in intron 32, MYBPC3 Δ 25bp , in the South Asian population. Occurring in an estimated 100 million carriers, this variant may be associated with cardiomyopathy and heart failure.
