Abstract
The yeast plasma membrane transporter Acr3 mediates efflux of toxic arsenite and antimonite. Here, we investigated the mechanisms of Acr3 turnover. We found that after arrival and residence at the plasma membrane, Acr3 is subjected to internalization followed by proteolysis in the vacuole.
