Abstract
Adult T cell leukaemia-lymphoma (ATL) is an aggressive peripheral T-cell lymphoma associated with human T-lymphotropic virus type 1. Four clinical subtypes of ATL have been identified: acute, lymphoma, chronic (favourable and unfavourable) and smouldering (Shimoyama, 1991).
