Cardiac troponin (cTn) is essential for the diagnosis of an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). However, in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) baseline cTn levels are often elevated, and it is unknown whether the hemodialysis (HD) procedure affects cTn levels.
