Tomogonopus nomen novum Sierwald & Mauriès is introduced as a replacement for Tomogonus Demange, 1971 (pre-occupied by Tomogonus D'Orbigny, 1904, Coleoptera) for an African millipede genus from Sierra Leone (Spirostreptida, Spirostreptidae).
