Abstract
P-glycoprotein (P-gp) exists in animals, fungi and bacteria and likely evolved as a defense mechanism against harmful substances. Here a cDNA (4054 bp) encoding a putative P-glycoprotein gene from Helicoverpa armigera was cloned and named HaPgp1.
