Growth of the {100} faces of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate crystals in the presence of ionic species
Abstract
The kinetics of movement of elliptical growth layers on the {100} faces of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate crystals are reported for growth from aqueous solution at 19.36, 23.96 and 28.54°C in the supersaturation range 0.025<σ<0.08. The layers are shown to be step bunches and surface diffusion is considered to play the rate determining role in the growth process.
