Abstract
Plasma glucose level depends on the peripheral intra-islet crosstalk between A cells (glucagon) + B-cells (insulin) and D-cells (somatostatin). Gastrointestinal hormones (secretin, CCK-PZ, gastrin, and serotonin) modulate the glucose- and amino acids-induced secretions of insulin and glucagon, respectively.
