A novel coordination polymer [Zn(HL)(bpy)(H2O)] (1) has been prepared by utilizing π-conjugated aromatic ligand 5-((4-carboxyphenoxy)methyl)benzene-1,3-dioic acid (H3L) and rigid ligand 4,4′-bipyridine (bpy) under the hydrothermal condition.
