Abstract
32 children and 32 adolescents were tested for their ability to shift from a functional to a perceptual and from a positive- to a negative-similarity orientation in the course of a concept-attainment task. Results showed that the adolescents were significantly more successful in both types of shift, although the similarity shift was more dificult than the level shift for both age groups.
