Abstract
Hydrodistilled essential oil from Pelargonium tomentosum Jacq. cultivated at the Reunion was analyzed by GC/MS. Menthone (33%) and isomenthone (59%) were the two main components among 30 separated compounds. Other components, in trace amounts, were usual monoterpene hydrocarbons, alcohols (menthols, terpineols, borneol), ketones (piperitone and veloutone, an unusual ketone).
