Synthesis, Spectroscopic Characterization and Antitumour Activity of Diorganotin(IV) Derivatives of N-Substituted Ortho-Aminobenzoic Acid
Abstract
Four compounds of the type [(o‐RNH‐C 6 H 4 COO)(CH 3 CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 ) 2 Sn] 2 O and [(o‐CH 3 NH‐C 6 H 4 COO)(CH 3 ) 2 Sn] 2 O have been prepared, characterized by 1 H, 13 C, 119 Sn NMR, and by Mössbauer and mass spectrometry. They have been tested in vitro against two human tumour cell lines, nl. MCF‐7 (mammary tumour) and WiDr (colon carcinoma), and found to score slightly better than cis‐platin but markedly less than other cytostatic...
