Jurassic tetrapod fossils are known from all of the continents, and their distribution documents a critical paleobiogeographic juncture in tetrapod evolution – the change from cosmopolitan Pangean tetrapod faunas to the provincialized faunas that characterize the late Mesozoic and Cenozoic.
