Abstract
The work reported in the present paper represents the results from a continuing development of low firing-rate and low soot-producing oil burners for residential applications at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The reduction in the heating requirements of homes through better insulation and lowering of thermostat set temperatures has been spurred by the increasing cost of energy.
