Abstract
We report here that dissolution and regrowth of resorcinol formaldehyde (RF) colloidal particles can occur spontaneously when they are subjected to etching in solvents such as ethanol and tetrahydrofuran, resulting in the formation of hollow nanostructures with controllable shell thickness.
