Abundant Spontaneous and Dynamically Triggered Submarine Landslides in the Gulf of Mexico

Submarine landslides that occur offshore are common along the U.S. continental margins. These mass wasting events can trigger tsunamis and hence potentially devastate coastal communities and damage offshore infrastructure.
