Abstract
<b><i>Background:</i></b> Large vessel occlusion (LVO) leads to debilitating stroke and responds modestly to recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-TPA). Early thrombectomy improves functional outcomes in selected patients with proximal occlusion but it is not available in all medical facilities.
