Abstract
Intermediate wheatgrass [IWG; Thinopyrum intermedium (Host) Barkworth & D.R. Dewey] is a cool‐season perennial forage grass bred for higher seed yield. It is the first perennial grain crop in the United States, commercialized as Kernza since 2015.
