Psychogenic non‐epileptic seizures (PNES), also known as dissociative seizures, are paroxysms of altered subjective experience, involuntary movements and reduced self‐control that can resemble epileptic seizures, but have distinct clinical characteristics and a complex neuropsychiatric aetiology.
