Abstract
We tested the hypothesis that reduced oxytocin is associated to diminished maternal sensitivity. Women intending to breastfeed were recruited in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Psychiatric history was assessed via Structured Clinical Interview, with oversampling of high risk women, defined as a history or current diagnosis of major depressive or anxiety disorders.
