Recurrent pericardial effusion with pericardial amyloid deposition: a case report and literature review
Abstract
Pericardial amyloidosis is a rare cause of pericardial effusion. Here, we report a case of recurrent pericardial effusion because of pericardial amyloid deposition. The patient was a man in his 40s admitted for pulmonary embolism. During hospitalization, arterial fibrillation and cardiac tamponade were observed, and an initial pericardial puncture was performed.
