Abstract
Viewing the relationship between vertical integration and product architecture as the “mirroring hypothesis”, we examine the case of Tesla Motors. Our analysis demonstrates that, by and large, Tesla pursues a high degree of integrality in product architecture and employs significant vertical integration.
