Abstract
In this study, large α-Al2O3 particles were prepared by a novel surface pre-agglomeration (SPA) treatment on the surface of MCrAlY bond coats. These large α-Al2O3 particles eventually improved the oxidation resistance of the LPPS and APS MCrAlY bond coats by a factor of three and eight times, respectively. Results confirm that these large α-Al2O3 particles resulted from the agglomeration of the as-deposited alumina film during the SPA treatment....
