Transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMD) materials are good candidates for photoelectrochemical (PEC) electrode materials because of their distinctive optoelectronic properties and catalytic activities. Monolayer WSe2 is a p-type semiconductor with a direct bandgap that makes it a suitable PEC cathode material.
