Abstract
VIP1 is a bZIP transcription factor in Arabidopsis thaliana. When cells are exposed to mechanical stress, VIP1 transiently accumulates in the nucleus, where it regulates the expression of its target genes and suppresses mechanical stress-induced root waving.
