Abstract
The reaction of 2-chlorophenylacetic acid with anhydrous copper(II) sulphate in the presence of pyridine resulted in the formation of [Cu2(2-ClC6H4CH2COO)4(Py)2] (1). The complex was characterized by FT-IR and X-ray single crystal analysis. The dinuclear copper(II) complex has shown a paddle wheel arrangement with four bridging carboxylate ligands around two copper centers.
