Trapezium fracture: a common clinical mimic of scaphoid fracture

Fractures of the trapezium are rarely diagnosed on plain radiographs after acute wrist trauma. High-resolution cross-sectional imaging identifies fractures of the trapezium as the most common radiographically occult carpal bone fracture.
