Abstract
Background: Organochlorines (OCs) are environmentally persistent compounds that have been extensively used as pesticides and for other industrial applications. Residues of OCs have been detected at hazardous waste sites and in various environmental media worldwide and serum levels of OCs continue to be detectable in the general population.
