Abstract
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is associated with insulin resistance and decreased insulin clearance. Insulin clearance is mostly determined by a first-pass hepatic uptake of insulin. In turn, liver fat content is associated with insulin resistance and reduced insulin clearance.
