Abstract
Stable isotopic iodine targets were fabricated using potassium iodide (KI) compound on gold and lead backings and used in a heavy ion induced in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy experiment. Due to the hygroscopic nature of iodide compounds, a very thin gold capping was used to protect the targets from getting hydrated.
