Abstract
One-hour glucose (1h-PG) during an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is an emerging biomarker for diagnosis and prediction of prediabetes (preDM) and type 2 diabetes (T2D). Our objectives were to: (1) use a longitudinal mathematical model to predict the pattern of glucose rise in 1h-PG and 2h-PG concentration with time and (2) test our predictions in a longitudinal cohort of 52 Pima Indians (baseline age, 26.5±5.8 years; BMI, 36.6±5.8 kg/m2)...
