†Mesopassandra keyao gen. et sp. nov., representing the first Mesozoic record of the family Passandridae (Coleoptera: Cucujoidea), is here described from Upper Cretaceous Burmese amber. Based on a phylogenetic analysis of 30 adult characters †Mesopassandra was recovered as the sister group to all remaining Passandridae, having a large labrum, bidentate mandibles and presumably 5-5-4 tarsi in the male.
