Abstract
Abstract The measurement of quality of services has an important influence in the companies’ competence, being even more relevant in the banking sector because of the high competition to keep and attract customers. Due to this fact, this paper proposes a balanced scorecard based SERVQUAL to rank competitors in the banking sector. The analysis will deal with hesitant fuzzy information that models the hesitancy of the experts involved. This analysis will be applied for weighting criteria and dimensions, ranking alternatives and different results that will define the Turkish banking sector. Its main goal is to show that banks should be more willing to help and support their customers to increase the quality of their services. Therefor the analysis aims at showing which is the most relevant factor in the balanced scorecard based-SERVQUAL dimensions according to the correlation coefficient? It also aims at providing a clear view about what type of actions should take banks to be closer to the customers. Additionally, it will be identified which is the importance of the different dimensions of the approach? Eventually the main conclusions obtained from the analysis will be detailed regarding the quality services offered by banks in Turkey and different recommendations will be elicited to increase the banks performance in service quality according to the criteria and dimensions emphasized in this study.

Purpose This paper aims to evaluate the market concentration and competition in the European Banking Sector using an integrated multi-criteria decision-making approach under the fuzzy environment. Design/methodology/approach The hybrid model combining fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL), fuzzy analytic network process (ANP) and fuzzy VIKOR methods is applied to measure the market competition and concentration in the European Banking Sector. For this purpose, two acade...

International activities of firms contribute to environmental socio-economic development and have a positive influence on prosperity of countries. The novelty of this study is to extend prevailing theory on the performance measurement of internationalized firms by suggesting a hybrid decision-making model based on interval type 2 fuzzy sets for the Baltic states. The integrated method is defined as the interval type-2 (IT2) decision making trial and evaluation laboratory qualitative flexible mul...

Abstract This study aims at analyzing the performance results of the European policies in energy investment within an integrated multidimensional quality measurement approach. For this purpose, the quality function deployment is adopted to the multidimensional performance measurement based on the balanced scorecard method. The dimensions and criteria of customer and technical requirements, process design, and performance measurement are defined to measure each process of QFD (Quality Function De...

Decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory is a widely applied method used in the research of complicated socioeconomic system issues. However, this traditional method is not feasible when experts are non-homogeneous and hesitant between two or more statements. In this paper, hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets (HFLTSs) are applied to facilitate the experts’ expressions with regard to a direct influence level between factors, in order to analyze the causal relationship of the relevant syste...

The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of global risks on financial crises. For this purpose, five different outstanding crises after the Great Depression of 1929 are taken into the consideration. Additionally, four different dimensions are selected regarding global risk by considering the Global Risk Report. Moreover, the hesitant fuzzy DEMATEL, the hesitant fuzzy VIKOR, and the hesitant fuzzy TOPSIS methodologies are used to reach this objective. We concluded that, with respect to glo...

Abstract The technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is one of the most popular and efficient methods in solving the multiple criteria/attribute decision making (MCDM/MADM) problems. However, the traditional TOPSIS can not deal with the information measures with negative value. Therefore, we develop an innovative TOPSIS in this paper based on a novel synthetic correlation coefficient between HFSs which lies in [−1,1] in statistical view and considers three charact...

Abstract The baggage handling system is a crucial part of ground handling operations, which significantly contributes to the overall satisfaction of passengers. Although several studies have investigated airline service quality, little attention has been paid to this crucial part of the system. This study proposes the SERVQUAL model to assess the perceived quality of service for the baggage handling system. A literature review provides a list of criteria per dimension of the SERVQUAL model. The ...

As an important extension of fuzzy number, the probabilistic hesitant fuzzy element (PHFE) shows the flexibility of decision makers in expressing hesitant information in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) processes. Accordingly, numerous research findings have been obtained since PHFE introduction. However, a few important issues in PHFE utilization remain to be addressed. This study introduces the French organization Rangement Et Synthese De Ronnees Relationnelles’ (ORESTE) approach for MCDM...

This study aimed to evaluate the energy policies and investments in renewable energy resources. In this context, developing energy policy and investing in energy were defined as two different factors for renewable energy. Additionally, eight different criteria were also selected based on these two different factors. In the first stage of the analysis, these criteria were evaluated by using a correlation coefficient based on interval type-2 fuzzy sets. The findings show that five criteria have a ...
