Abstract
The cuticular hydrocarbon (CHC) biosynthetic pathways branches off from the synthesis of fatty acids. Fatty acid elongases (ELOs) are enzymes catalyzing the synthesis of long-chain fatty acids and thereby contribute to the diversification of CHCs.
