3-Deoxy-D-arabino-heptulosonate-7-phosphate synthase (DAHPS) is a key rate-limiting enzyme in aromatic amino acid anabolism. A new Iβ-type DAHPS gene (aro1A) was identified in a metagenomic library from subtropical marine mangrove sediment.
