Better solubility and improved toxicity of palladium complexes compared with cisplatin were major reasons for synthesis of novel Pd(II) complex, [Pd(8Q)(bpy)]NO3 (8Q=8-hydroxyquinolinate, bpy=2,2′-bipyridine).
