Abstract
Snowpatches are disjunct arctic ecosystems scattered across the subarctic, particularly on wind‐protected lee slopes, where a thick snow cover accumulates during the winter. These snow‐rich treeless ecosystems are affected by delayed snowmelt, causing shorter growing seasons.
