Abstract
Background: The most important clinical manifestation of atherosclerosis is rupture of advanced plaques. The fibronectin containing alternatively spliced extra domain A (Fn-EDA) is abundant in extracellular matrix around macrophages and endothelial cells in advanced human plaques.
