Abstract
The island of Seram, eastern Indonesia, incorporates Miocene ultrahigh-temperature (UHT; greater than 900°C) garnet–sillimanite granulites that formed by extensional exhumation of hot mantle rocks behind the rolling-back Banda Arc.
