Abstract
A new species of Philhammus Fairmaire (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae: Cnemeplatiini) is described from Djibouti, Horn of Africa, and compared to other known species of the genus. Members of this species were collected at ultraviolet lights in low, thorny, desert scrub vegetation and are presumed to inhabit loose, sandy soils.
