Treatment method of asbestos-containing waste
Abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method capable of safely and certainly detoxifying asbestos-containing waste. SOLUTION: The asbestos-containing waste is immersed in an oil tank in which liquid oil is housed or the liquid oil is sprayed on the asbestos-containing waste to apply dust scattering preventing treatment to the asbestos-containing waste, the asbestos-containing waste subjected to dust scattering preventing treatment is crushed into an average particle size of 5 mm or below, the crushed matter of the waste and the liquid oil are mixed to prepare a mixture with a viscosity of 10,000 cps or below and the mixture is charged in a cement baking rotary kiln to be detoxified. Disclosed is a method of removing asbestos from an asbestos-containing material by 99% through low temperature heat treatment. The method includes mixing an asbestos-containing material with an oxalic acid at a weight ratio in a range of 1:0.002 to 1:1 and performing heat treatment with respect to a mixture at a temperature of 90° C. to 110° C. to remove asbestos from the asbestos-containing material by 99% or more.
