We describe an iterative reconstruction algorithm (HYPR-OSEM) which improves the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in single frame static imaging by incorporating the HighlY constrained back-PRojection (HYPR) de-noising directly within the ordered subsets expectation maximization (OSEM) algorithm.
